Not everyone’s a frequent flyer, but there’s plenty of Points to be found on the ground.

Figuratively speaking, that is.

Hopping on a plane can give your Velocity account a healthy dose of Points, it’s true. But, you might not have realised that there are loads of ways to earn Velocity Points without ever booking a flight. In fact, you can earn Points for simply going about your daily business.

Whether you’re making everyday purchases, like buying groceries or paying bills, or something more fun, like shopping online or meeting up with friends for dinner, you can be earning Points on every purchase you make. Then, of course, what you put your Points towards is completely up to you. Now that selected flight redemptions are back to some of our most popular destinations, might we suggest booking that much-needed holiday?

Here’s how to earn without flying …

Earn on essentials

The essentials in life aren’t free, so you might as well be rewarded with Points for the payments you make. Velocity Frequent Flyer’s partners cover everything from grocery shopping to filling up on fuel. So in a nutshell, you can earn Velocity Points for doing normal life activities like getting to your next appointment or meal-planning.

Earn on your home

Giving your home a makeover or need a new couch? Velocity’s partnered with a range of home retailers that earn you Points while you shop. You can design your dream kitchen or wardrobe with Freedom Kitchens + Wardrobes, or get some better shut-eye with a new mattress from Snooze, all while giving your Points balance a boost. Just remember to provide your Velocity membership number at check out.

Double dip your way to more Points

One great way to earn Points without boarding a plane is by double dipping with a Velocity Points earning credit card. Double dipping is the process of using your Velocity Points earning credit card to earn Velocity Points twice on many of our partner offers - once with the partner, and once with your card when you use it as your payment method.

For example, if you’re signed up to flybuys, you can collect flybuys points on the things you buy then transfer those points into your Velocity account. And if you do your grocery shop at Coles or shop at Kmart or Target, you can double up by using your Velocity Points-earning credit card and collecting flybuys points all in one go^.

Peruse our e-Store

Whether you’re dressing up your home décor, selecting new wardrobe items, seeking the latest gadgets, picking up new luggage for the next holiday or buying everyday necessities, log in to your Velocity account on your computer or device before searching your favourite shops (did someone say eBay, Apple and THE ICONIC…?) in our e-Store. Then, the purchases you make at these stores will come with a nice side serve of Velocity Points.

Balance the naughty with the nice

Whether you’re a gym junkie or a wine aficionado, or manage to straddle a line between the two, you can earn Points by doing what you love most. Stock up on Virgin Wines for extra Points. Or, try a different fit and work up a sweat in style decked out in the latest activewear from rebeladidas or stylerunner purchased via the Velocity e-Store and get rewarded that way.

Check out the full list of Velocity Frequent Flyer partners, and find out where you could be earning more Points while you’re on the ground. And for our biggest and best partner offers, make sure you bookmark the Member Offers page on the Velocity website. That way, you’ll never miss out on a chance to boost your Velocity Points balance, fast.
