Terms & Conditions:

*Velocity members can earn bonus Velocity Points (“Bonus Points Offer”) when they: 1) book an Eligible Flight between 12.01am AEST 12 December 2024 and 11.59pm AEST 20 January 2025 (“Booking Period”); 2) add their Velocity membership number to the booking before travel; and 3) travel on the Eligible Flight booked in the Travel Period between 12.01am AEST 21 June 2025 and 11:59pm AEDT 30 September 2025 (“Travel Period”). An Eligible Flight is a Virgin Australia marketed international long haul flight, operated by Qatar Airways for Virgin Australia (with a VA flight number VA1, VA2, VA15, VA16, VA 21, VA22 or a QR flight number QR8400, QR8401, QR8404, QR8405, QR8406, QR8407), between an Australian port and starting, ending or transiting through Doha, Qatar, that normally earns Velocity Points. Eligible Flights can be booked on the Virgin Australia website, Qatar Airways website or via a travel agent. Changes made within the Booking Period to an existing booking originally made before the Booking Period do not qualify the booking as an Eligible Flight. If Velocity members meet the Bonus Points Offer criteria, they will receive: 5,000 bonus Velocity Points for a one-way Economy Eligible Flight; 10,000 bonus Velocity Points for a return Economy Eligible Flight; 10,000 bonus Velocity Points for a one-way Business Eligible Flight; or 20,000 bonus Velocity Points for a return Business Eligible Flight. Velocity members who meet the Bonus Points Offer criteria will be allocated the bonus Points within four weeks of their travel date. The bonus Points will be awarded to the Velocity membership number listed in the Eligible Flight booking that meets the Bonus Points Offer criteria. The member details on the Velocity membership number must match the passenger travelling on the Eligible Flight booking. Bonus Velocity Points will be applied to the originally purchased fare class and any upgrades (example: from Economy to Business or First Class) will only attract bonus Velocity Points as originally booked and ticketed. Additional airline partner and Velocity membership terms and conditions apply.

^Virgin Australia flights between Australia and Doha (VA1 - VA29) will be operated by Qatar Airways for Virgin Australia and are subject to regulatory approval.

1. Subject to regulatory approvals.

2. Melbourne to Doha on sale in early January 2025 for travel from December 2025.

3. Virgin Australia’s flights will all include the QSuite configuration by default. The aircraft will only switch to a non-QSuite fitted aircraft if operationally required.

4. Base Points refers to the minimum number of Points that can be earned by all members when flying with Virgin Australia. If the flight is booked as a Virgin Australia Itinerary, then the Base Points earn amount will be calculated using the 'Points per dollar spent on the all-inclusive fare' method at a rate of 5 Points per dollar spent for bookings made before 2 April 2025 and at a rate of 4 Points per dollar spent for bookings made on or after 2 April 2025.  The ‘All Inclusive Fare’ includes base fare, taxes (including GST), fees and carrier charges and excludes seat selection purchase and other extras, such as Economy X, Preferred Seating, Baggage Allowance or Carbon Offset. If the Virgin Australia flight is booked in conjunction with another flight (or flights) on any other airline on a joint itinerary, then the Base Points amount will be calculated using the 'fare type originally purchased, and the miles flown as part of the Virgin Australia flight' method at the rates outlined on the table on the Virgin Australia partner page on the Velocity Frequent Flyer website.

5. Tier Bonus Points refers to the additional number of Points (beyond the Base Points) that can be earned by a Silver, Gold or Platinum member when flying on all fare types excluding Lite with Virgin Australia. If the flight is booked as a Virgin Australia Itinerary, then the Tier Bonus Points earn amount will be equivalent to a proportion of the Base Points earned, depending on the applicable Tier Bonus rate (50% for Silver, 75% for Gold and 100% for Platinum).  If the Virgin Australia flight is booked in conjunction with another flight (or flights) on any other airline on a joint itinerary, then the Tier Bonus Points earn amount will be equivalent to a proportion the number of miles flown on the Virgin Australia flight, depending on the applicable Tier Bonus rate (50% for Silver, 75% for Gold and 100% for Platinum).

6. Status Credits cannot be earned on all fare types. Status Credits can only be earned on eligible flights, marketed, and operated by Virgin Australia and/or a Velocity airline partner.   Status Credits accrual is based on single flight segments that consist of individual flight numbers. An itinerary that involves a change in aircraft but retains the same flight number is considered a single flight segment. An itinerary that consists of a change in flight numbers, even if the same aircraft is used for the entire itinerary, is considered two flight segments. Domestic flights booked within an International journey will accrue Status Credits at the earn level for international flights. Members travelling on upgraded fares purchased with Points or any other subsidised means of upgrades on Virgin Australia or our partner airlines will earn Status Credits based on original purchased fare type.

7. The Points required for a Reward Seat will be based on the total miles for all sectors in a one-way journey, except where there is a break in the journey. Where there is a break in the journey, the Points required is calculated on a per sector basis. A break in the journey includes: (a) a stopover, which means: (i) in an Australian domestic itinerary, a break of journey at an intermediate point when onward travel does not take place on the same calendar day; and (ii) for all other itineraries, including those containing a domestic to international connecting flight, when a passenger arrives at an intermediate point and is not scheduled to depart within 24 hours of arrival; (b) a change in class of travel within the journey; or (c) a change in operating airline where the airlines are located in different Reward Seat Points tables.

~Earn rates are correct as at 12 December 2024 and are subject to change. Flights are governed by the operating carrier's terms and conditions, which can be viewed on the operating carrier's websites. Members travelling on Upgraded fares purchased with Points or any other subsidised means of Upgrades on Virgin Australia or our partner airlines will earn Points based on originally purchased fare classes. Check the Velocity Terms and Conditions for details about earning Points.
