An oasis at the airport
Four key ingredients for the perfect chill zone: free drinks, free food, strong coffee, WI-FI. If you’ve taken enough flights to earn yourself Gold Velocity, you get access to these things (and more) in the Virgin Australia Lounge (as well as selected international airport lounges operated by our partner airlines – you can find exactly which lounges via this Virgin Australia webpage). Kick back with a glass of red (our tie loosens at 11am), get some work done (but only if you really have to), and help yourself to our breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets. Go back for seconds if you want, we don’t mind (the toasties are a perennial favourite and can be made any time of day).
A fast pass to your flight
Want to breeze through the airport and onto the plane? We feel you, which is why Priority Check-in, Screening and Boarding (at most airports on the Virgin Australia network) and Baggage are all part and parcel of the Gold Velocity package. It’s not ‘jumping the queue’ per se – but it is casually bypassing it. Streamlining your airport experience means you’ll get more time to luxuriate in the Lounge and, as the above point demonstrates, this is a very good thing.

A cheap annual family trip
Low in Velocity Points and in high demand, it’s no wonder Reward Seats are sought after. But, hey, if you’re Gold Velocity, we want to guarantee you can take advantage of them. Once a year, you’ll get to put your Velocity Points towards your choice of four return Economy Reward Seats travelling anywhere on the Virgin Australia domestic network (it just has to be a direct flight), making it the perfect opportunity to holiday on the cheap.
More bang for your buck
Like 75% more. With Gold Velocity, you’ll get heaps of extra Velocity Points on top of the ones you’d usually earn when you fly on eligible fares with us or many of our travel partners.
Get there earlier with fly ahead
A bit early for your flight? As a Gold Velocity member, if you’re at the airport with time to spare, you can request to Fly Ahead to your destination on an earlier flight as long as you’re not flying on a Getaway fare. If you’re travelling with carry-on only (well done, light traveller), you just need to make a request at a Virgin Australia Lounge or Service Desk. If you’ve got checked baggage, you’ll need to request Fly Ahead at the Priority Check-in counter.
