Earning Points is easy as this:
- Book your accommodation directly on the Choice Hotels website*
- Present your Velocity membership card when you check-in to the hotel or update your earning preference in your Choice Privileges account.
- Watch as your Points land in your account within 8 weeks of checking out. If your Points don't arrive you can submit a missing Points claim.
Transferring your existing Choice Privileges points to Velocity is easy and oh so rewarding.
Here's how to transfer:
- Select Transfer Now and login to your Choice Privileges account to register Velocity as your transfer partner
- Select 'Make an Exchange', select the number of points you wish to transfer and 'Exchange Now'

Choice Hotels: To earn Velocity Points whenever you stay at a participating Choice Hotels® location, you must be a member of Choice Privileges® (join at https://www.choicehotels.com/en-au/choice-privileges/account/enroll) with an address in Australia or New Zealand and select Velocity as your loyalty program membership preference. Velocity members will earn 3 Velocity Points per $1 spent on qualifying stays at participating properties located in Australia and New Zealand or 600 Velocity Points per stay at properties located outside Australia and New Zealand (excluding properties located in Denmark, Finland, Lithuania, Norway, and Sweden). Eligible charges include accommodation, tax, restaurant, bar charges, laundry and phone calls. Velocity members must provide their Velocity membership number at check-in or checkout. Guest name must match the Velocity membership name to earn Velocity Points. If a Velocity Member’s individual hotel bill is billed directly to a company and the Velocity Member is responsible for the authorization for settlement at check-out, the Member’s stay is eligible for Velocity Points earn upon presenting their Velocity membership card at Check-in or Checkout. However, group master-billing arrangements where charges for multiple rooms are placed on one hotel bill and billed to a company or common address or settled at check-out by one individual are not eligible for Velocity Points earn. Velocity Points can only be earned at hotels from the following brands: Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Comfort Inn & Suites, Comfort Resort, Comfort Hotel, Clarion Resort, Clarion, Clarion Hotel, Clarion Suites, Econo Lodge, Clarion Collection, Quality, Quality Hotel, Quality Suites, Quality Apartments, Quality Resort, Quality Inn, Ascend Hotel Collection. Choice Privileges: You must be a member of Velocity Frequent Flyer to transfer Choice Privileges points to your Velocity Account. The minimum transferable amount is 2,000 Choice Privileges points per conversion, which is equivalent to 800 Velocity Points. Members can move Choice Privileges points in increments of 2,000. You can transfer your Choice Privileges points online or by calling the Choice Service Center and providing your Velocity membership number. Velocity Points cannot be exchanged for Choice Privileges points. Please allow 2 - 6 weeks for the Points to be allocated to your Velocity Account. Changes, re-issuance or re credit of Choice Privileges points is not allowed once you have made a request to transfer Choice Privileges points to Velocity. A Qualifying Stay is one or more consecutive nights at the same hotel, whether you check in or out more than once, at the hotel’s Qualifying Room Rates (generally the standard rate, not a discounted or group rate). Qualifying Room Rates generally do not include promotional rates, wholesale packages, conference rates and group tour rates, employee discount rates, rates booked through third party web sites offering discounted 'distressed' inventory or 'last minute' accommodation deals, Member benefits discount rate and award or discount certificates, free or complimentary hotel stays, special rates offered through travel agencies, special rates offered to airline crew, airline employees, travel agent employees, Hotel employees or other industry discount rates. All hotel stays are governed by the individual hotels’ terms and conditions; please refer to the individual hotels’ website for full terms and conditions. Check the Velocity Member Terms and Conditions for details about earning Velocity Points with hotel partners. Please allow 2-8 weeks for Points to be allocated to your Velocity Account. Please ensure the name on the Velocity Account provided matches the name under which the hotel booking is made in order to earn Points for your stay.
