Terms and Conditions
1. Earn rates are correct as at 17 October 2024 for routes operating as at 16 January 2024. Earn Rates are subject to change, and subject to any black out period notified at the time of booking by Velocity, Virgin Australia or Link Airways. Flights are governed by the operating carrier's terms and conditions, which can be viewed on the operating carrier's websites. Members travelling on Upgraded fares purchased with Points or any other subsidised means of Upgrades on Virgin Australia or our partner airlines will earn Points based on originally purchased fare classes. Check the Velocity Terms and Conditions for details about earning Points.
* Base Points refers to the minimum number of Points that can be earned by all members when flying with Link Airways. If the flight is a Link Airways operated flight with a VA flight number (VA) then the Base Points earn amount will be calculated using the 'Points per dollar spent on the all-inclusive fare' method at a rate of 5 Points per dollar spent for bookings made before 2 April 2025 and at a rate of 4 Points per dollar spent for bookings made on or after 2 April 2025. If the flight is a Link Airways operated flight with a LInk Airways flight number (FC) then the Base Points earn amount will be calculated using the 'Points per dollar spent on the all-inclusive fare' method at a rate of 5 Points per dollar spent for bookings in the Flexible and Freedom fare types made before 2 April 2025 and at the rate of 4 Points for bookings in the Flexible and Freedom fare types made on or after 2 April 2025 and 2 Points per dollar spent for bookings in the Standard and Deal fare types.
^ From 2 April 2025, Velocity members that have earned Points from spending with an eligible Velocity Points earning credit card within the 12 months prior to flying will earn 5 Base Points per $1 spent on the All-Inclusive Fare when flying on a Link Airways operated flight with a VA flight number (VA). The ‘ Base Points’ refers to the minimum number of Points that can be earned by a Red member when flying with Virgin Australia. The ‘All Inclusive Fare’ includes base fare, taxes (including GST), fees and carrier charges and excludes seat selection purchase and other extras, such as Economy X, Preferred Seating, Baggage Allowance or Carbon Offset. As at 17 October 2024, the Velocity Credit Cards that are eligible to earn 5 Base Points per $1 spent on the All-Inclusive Fare earn include: American Express Velocity Gold Card, American Express Velocity Escape Card, American Express Velocity Platinum Card, American Express Velocity Business Card, Bank of Queensland Signature Velocity Card, Bank of Queensland Specialist Platinum Velocity Card, Westpac Altitude Mastercard Platinum, Westpac Altitude Mastercard Black, Virgin Money Virgin Australia Velocity Flyer Card and, Virgin Money Virgin Australia Velocity High Flyer Card. This list is subject to change at Velocity’s discretion.
~ Tier Bonus Points refers to the additional number of Points (beyond the Base Points) that can be earned by a Silver, Gold or Platinum member when flying on all fare types excluding Lite on a Link Airways operated flight with a VA flight number (VA). If the flight is booked as a Virgin Australia Itinerary, then the Tier Bonus Points earn amount will be equivalent to a proportion of the Base Points earned, depending on the applicable Tier Bonus rate (50% for Silver, 75% for Gold and 100% for Platinum).
2. Please note that flights between Sydney and Canberra operated by Link Airways with a VA flight number are excluded from the above earn rate and are treated as a Virgin Australia domestic flight.
3: Velocity members will earn Status Credits based on the fare type originally purchased and number of miles flown, for any Link Airways operated flight with a VA flight number (VA). Velocity membership and Status Credit earn are subject to the Member Terms and Conditions, as amended from time to time. Your Status Credit balance may go up or down daily as credits are earned or expired. To view your up to date balance visit My Velocity. Status Credits accrual is based on single flight segments that consist of individual flight numbers. An itinerary that involves a change in aircraft but retains the same flight number is considered a single flight segment. An itinerary that consists of a change in flight numbers, even if the same aircraft is used for the entire itinerary, is considered two flight segments.
4. Link Airways Business Discounts (Link Business Discounts): As at 7th November 2024, the following discounts apply to Virgin Australia base fares (which excludes fees, carrier charges and taxes) of Virgin Australia marketed and Link Airways operated flights (with a VA flight number) booked by Virgin Australia Business Flyer members (Members), which may change without notice:

Link Business Discounts can only be booked through the Virgin Australia Business Flyer Booking Portal, our Guest Contact Centre, or a registered Travel Management Company (TMC) or travel agent and are not available through the public Virgin Australia or Link Airways website. If your TMC or travel agent is not registered to process these Link Business Discounts, please instruct your TMC or travel agent to contact the Virgin Australia Business Flyer team businessflyer@virginaustralia.com.
Link Business Discounts cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or discount and cannot be combined with any other Unpublished Fares or Promotional Fares, unless otherwise stated. Link Business Discounts do not apply to any bookings made via the Virgin Australia conference and group travel area, sale fares or other tactical fares offered from time to time, and bookings for children and infants. 5. Link Airways Business Points Earn:Virgin Australia Business Flyer members (Members) will earn Velocity Points when Travellers fly on eligible Link Airways operated flights with a VA flight number (Choice Fare Classes T, Q, P, N, O, L, K, B, Y) bookable via on Eligible Booking Channel as follows:
Please note that Velocity Points cannot be earned on certain fees or charges (e.g. baggage charges and credit card surcharges). Travellers travelling on upgraded fares that were purchased with Points or by bidding for an upgrade will earn as per the rules of the original fare class purchased. An Eligible Booking Channel is: 1. the Virgin Australia Business Flyer Booking Portal, 2. www.virginaustralia.com provided that the Member’s ABN is included, 3. the Member’s nominated TMC, and 4. the Guest Contact Centre.
Please note that Members can earn up to 1,000,000 Velocity Points per annum for travel on flights marketed and operated by Virgin Australia or flights marketed by Virgin Australia and operated by eligible partner airlines (with a VA flight number) (including Link Airways) based on the rolling 12-month period from when the Member joins Virgin Australia Business Flyer.
Membership and Points earn is subject to the Virgin Australia Business Flyer Terms and Conditions and Velocity Frequent Flyer Terms and Conditions, and any changes to the Member benefits and program features, including Points earn for eligible travel on flights operated Link Airways, will be governed by those Terms and Conditions. Velocity collects and handles your personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy, and Virgin Australia Business Flyer collects and handles your personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy.

6. Velocity Frequent Flyer Points Earn: If the indvidual flying with Virgin Australia or a partner airline is a Velocity Frequent Flyer member, they may also earn Velocity Points on eligible flights in accordance with the Velocity membership Terms and Conditions.
7. Virgin Australia Business Flyer Account Administrators can transfer Points earned by the Virgin Australia Business Flyer member to a Velocity Frequent Flyer member, provided that (a) there is a minimum of 3,000 Points per transfer; and (b) the Velocity Frequent Flyer member transferee is directly employed or contracted by the Virgin Australia Business Flyer member.
*Virgin Australia Business Flyer membership is available to businesses with an active ABN/ACN and an Australian business address that spend less than $300K per annum on flights with Virgin Australia. The business cannot be a Superannuation fund, travel agent, travel management company, travel wholesaler, air travel consolidator or anyone re-selling air travel.
