What is Status? What are Status Credits and what are they used for?

Status refers to the membership level you hold within the Velocity program. When you join the program, you become a Velocity member. You need to earn Status Credits to upgrade to Silver, Gold and then Platinum membership levels, where you become entitled to a range of exclusive benefits, you need to earn Status Credits.  You can earn Status Credits every time you fly with Virgin Australia or our selected international airline partners.

Velocity will assess your Status Credit balance daily to see if you have qualified for an upgrade. Your Status Credit balance is calculated based on the amount of Status Credits earned in the previous 365 days.

Once you have upgraded, you have 365 days to earn the required number of Status Credits to maintain that level.
