Terms and Conditions:
1. The Points required for a Reward Seat will be based on the total miles for all sectors in a one way journey, except where there is a break in the journey. Where there is a break in the journey, the Points required is calculated on a per sector basis. A break in the journey includes: (a) a stopover, which means: (i) in an Australian domestic itinerary, a break of journey at an intermediate point when onward travel does not take place on the same calendar day; and (ii) for all other itineraries, including those containing a domestic to international connecting flight, when a passenger arrives at an intermediate point and is not scheduled to depart within 24 hours of arrival; (b) a change in class of travel within the journey; or (c) a change in operating airline where the airlines are located in different Reward Seat Points tables.

These charges vary depending on carrier, city pair, fare class date and time of booking and are subject to change. Carrier charge quoted exclusive of GST. The carrier charge will attract the 10% Australian Goods and Services Tax (GST) an all-Domestic itinerary. GST is not payable on carrier charges for Australian Domestic flights as part of international bookings.
3. Premium Economy is not available on Virgin Australia Domestic and International Short-Haul flights. Premium Economy is available on Virgin Atlantic and Singapore Airlines.
4. Qatar Airways carrier charges are payable in addition to the Points required, these are quoted at the time of booking and are subject to change.

8. Base Points refers to the minimum number of Points that can be earned by all members when flying with Virgin Australia. If the flight is booked as a Virgin Australia Itinerary, then the Base Points earn amount will be calculated using the 'Points per dollar spent on the all-inclusive fare' method at a rate of 5 Points per dollar spent for bookings made before 2 April 2025 and at a rate of 4 Points per dollar spent for bookings made on or after 2 April 2025. If the Virgin Australia flight is booked in conjunction with another flight (or flights) on any other airline on a joint itinerary, then the Base Points amount will be calculated using the 'fare type originally purchased, and the miles flown as part of the Virgin Australia flight' method at the rates outlined on the table on the Virgin Australia partner page on the Velocity Frequent Flyer website.
9. Tier Bonus Points refers to the additional number of Points (beyond the Base Points) that can be earned by a Silver, Gold or Platinum member when flying on all fare types excluding Lite with Virgin Australia. If the flight is booked as a Virgin Australia Itinerary, then the Tier Bonus Points earn amount will be equivalent to a proportion of the Base Points earned, depending on the applicable Tier Bonus rate (50% for Silver, 75% for Gold and 100% for Platinum). If the Virgin Australia flight is booked in conjunction with another flight (or flights) on any other airline on a joint itinerary, then the Tier Bonus Points earn amount will be equivalent to a proportion the number of miles flown on the Virgin Australia flight, depending on the applicable Tier Bonus rate (50% for Silver, 75% for Gold and 100% for Platinum).
10. Status Credits cannot be earned on all fare types. Status Credits can only be earned on eligible flights, marketed, and operated by Virgin Australia and/or a Velocity airline partner. Status Credits accrual is based on single flight segments that consist of individual flight numbers. An itinerary that involves a change in aircraft but retains the same flight number is considered a single flight segment. An itinerary that consists of a change in flight numbers, even if the same aircraft is used for the entire itinerary, is considered two flight segments. Domestic flights booked within an International journey will accrue Status Credits at the earn level for international flights. Members travelling on upgraded fares purchased with Points or any other subsidised means of upgrades on Virgin Australia or our partner airlines will earn Status Credits based on original purchased fare type. As of 2 April 2025, Velocity members will earn Status Credits on eligible Virgin Australia flights based on fare type and the total fare price paid.
