Terms and Conditions:
^Virgin Australia flights between Australia and Doha (VA1 - VA29) will be operated by Qatar Airways for Virgin Australia and are subject to regulatory approval.
1. The Points required for a Reward Seat will be based on the total miles for all sectors in a one way journey, except where there is a break in the journey. Where there is a break in the journey, the Points required is calculated on a per sector basis. A break in the journey includes: (a) a stopover, which means: (i) in an Australian domestic itinerary, a break of journey at an intermediate point when onward travel does not take place on the same calendar day; and (ii) for all other itineraries, including those containing a domestic to international connecting flight, when a passenger arrives at an intermediate point and is not scheduled to depart within 24 hours of arrival; (b) a change in class of travel within the journey; (c) a change in operating airline where the airlines are located in different Reward Seat Points tables; or (d) a Virgin Australia long haul international itinerary connects to a Virgin Australia domestic flight. For Reward Seat bookings where a Virgin Australia flight between Australia and Doha connects with a Qatar Airways flight as part of the same booking, this will not be considered as a trip break and the minimum number of Points required to book outlined above will apply.
2. Taxes, carrier charges and applicable fees start from $16.95 and are payable at the time of booking, in addition to the Points required. These charges vary depending on carrier, city pair, fare class date and time of booking and are subject to change. Carrier charge quoted exclusive of GST. 8. Base Points refers to the minimum number of Points that can be earned by all members when flying with Virgin Australia. If the flight is booked as a Virgin Australia Itinerary, then the Base Points earn amount will be calculated using the 'Points per dollar spent on the all-inclusive fare' method at a rate of 5 Points per dollar spent for bookings made before 2 April 2025 and at a rate of 4 Points per dollar spent for bookings made on or after 2 April 2025. If the Virgin Australia flight is booked in conjunction with another flight (or flights) on any other airline on a joint itinerary, then the Base Points amount will be calculated using the 'fare type originally purchased, and the miles flown as part of the Virgin Australia flight' method at the rates outlined on the table on the Virgin Australia partner page on the Velocity Frequent Flyer website.
9. Tier Bonus Points refers to the additional number of Points (beyond the Base Points) that can be earned by a Silver, Gold or Platinum member when flying on all fare types excluding Lite with Virgin Australia. If the flight is booked as a Virgin Australia Itinerary, then the Tier Bonus Points earn amount will be equivalent to a proportion of the Base Points earned, depending on the applicable Tier Bonus rate (50% for Silver, 75% for Gold and 100% for Platinum). If the Virgin Australia flight is booked in conjunction with another flight (or flights) on any other airline on a joint itinerary, then the Tier Bonus Points earn amount will be equivalent to a proportion the number of miles flown on the Virgin Australia flight, depending on the applicable Tier Bonus rate (50% for Silver, 75% for Gold and 100% for Platinum).
10. Status Credits cannot be earned on all fare types. Status Credits can only be earned on eligible flights, marketed, and operated by Virgin Australia and/or a Velocity airline partner.
