Frequently asked questions

Yak Pay is a secure payment platform that enables businesses to pay their expenses, including: The ATO, suppliers, subcontractors, rent, superannuation, payroll and more whilst optimising cash flow and earning reward points on every payment.
You can pay any bill with Yak Pay, however you cannot use the service to pay yourself via credit card. There are specific industries that are prohibited via the use of certain payment methods. Yak Pay reserves the right to update the list of banned industries at any time.
To create an account, visit yakpay.com/#/signup and follow the prompts to complete the online application form. The signup process takes around 10-15 minutes to complete and your account will take approximately 1 business day to be approved on the basis that all required documentation has been provided.
Yak Pay users can link their Virgin Australia Business Flyer account by following the below steps:

Login to the Yak Pay portal

Select ‘Accounts - Reward Program’ from the left hand menu, and select, ‘Virgin Australia Business Flyer’ from the available options

Enter in the ABN associated with your Virgin Australia Business Flyer account to link

If you are not a current Virgin Australia Business Flyer member you can follow the prompts to join the program
If you cannot link your account via your ABN/ACN in the Reward Program section of the Yak Pay platform, please contact help@yakpay.com so that Yak Pay can investigate the issue.
Please allow up to thirty (30) days for your Velocity Points to be reflected in the Virgin Australia Business Flyer Rewards Portal. If your Points are still not showing after thirty (30) days, please email help@yakpay.com with your Yak Pay account details and the date of payment.
If you have linked your Virgin Australia Business Flyer account to your Yak Pay account, you will automatically earn Velocity Points for your business each time you pay a bill with Yak Pay.

To redeem these Velocity Points for your business, you can then transfer these to your Velocity Frequent Flyer account via the Virgin Australia Business Flyer Rewards Portal.
You will earn Velocity Points as follows:

1 Velocity Point for every AU$10 for any invoice paid with a credit card.

1 Velocity Point for AU$4 paid via Yak Pay Bank Transfer.

Plus, up to 10 Velocity Points for every AU$1 paid when using Yak Pay's Rewards Accelerator.
If your credit card is a Velocity Frequent Flyer Points-earning credit card, you will earn Velocity Points on both the bill amount and the processing fee. Plus, when using a credit card with Yak Pay you can earn bonus Velocity Points on the bill amount at 1 point per AU$10 as standard with the option to earn up to 10 additional points per AU$1 when using Yak Pay's Rewards Accelerator.

For payments made by Bank Transfer, Velocity Points are earned on the bill amount but not on the processing fee.

Terms and Conditions

*Yak Pay 30% bonus Points Campaign Terms and Conditions:

From 12:01am AEST 30 September 2024 to 11:59pm AEST 11 November 2024 (Promotion Period), eligible Yak Pay Users, who are or becoming Virgin Australia Business Flyer members and signup to the Rewards Accelerator Offer with Yak Pay, may earn 30% additional Velocity Points for their business on eligible payment transactions. To be eligible for this bonus offer, the business must during the Promotion Period:

sign up to Yak Pay's Rewards Accelerator Offer with a tier of Silver, Gold, Platinum, Tungsten, Black or Diamond;
if not already a Virgin Australia Business Flyer member, sign up via the sign-up form on the Yak Pay website (the Virgin Australia Business Flyer Membership is subject to terms and conditions); and
after linking their Virgin Australia Business Flyer account, make an eligible payment transaction using the Rewards Accelerator sing credit card or bank transfer through the relevant platform.

Please note that in addition to these terms, the Yak Pay & Virgin Australia Business Flyer Partnership terms and conditions apply.

The bonus Velocity Points allocated is calculated by multiplying the base Velocity Points earned on eligible payments by  30%. For example, if the relevant user would ordinarily earn 10,000 Velocity Points on the eligible payment transaction, they would earn an additional 3,000 bonus Velocity Points during the Promotion Period. Velocity Points will be allocated within 30 business days after the Promotion Period for eligible payment transactions. This bonus offer is not available for existing Yak Pay Users.

To earn Velocity Points for your business on eligible payment transactions using Eligible Products with Yak Pay, businesses must:

sign up and be approved for a Yak Pay account via the Yak Pay platform;
be, or apply to become, a Virgin Australia Business Flyer member. If a Yak Pay User is not already a Virgin Australia Business Flyer member, they may apply to become a member at any time subject to the Virgin Australia Business Flyer Terms and Conditions and Velocity Membership Terms & Conditions;
link their Virgin Australia Business Flyer account to the Yak Pay platform. The Yak Pay User can link their Virgin Australia Business Flyer account to the Yak Pay platform by: a. going to the “Rewards Program” section, b. selecting Virgin Australia Business Flyer, c. inserting their ABN or ACN, and d. pressing “Link”; and
Please note that exclusions may apply when using certain payment methods, to make an eligible payment (Eligible Payment) which is any payment that is successfully processed, using the Eligible Products outlined in the below table. See here for more information.

Eligible Products

Credit Card offer eligibility: The nominated Virgin Australia Business Flyer account will be eligible to receive the specified Velocity Points when a payment using credit card is processed using the platform. Earn 1 Velocity Point per AUD $10 processed as standard when using a credit card on the platform.
Bank Transfer Offer eligibility: The nominated Virgin Australia Business Flyer account will be eligible to receive Velocity Points when a payment is made by Bank Transfer using the platform. Earn 1 Velocity Point per AUD $4 processed as standard when using Bank Transfer on the platform.
Rewards Accelerator Offer eligibility: The nominated Virgin Australia Business Flyer account will be eligible to receive the specified Velocity Points when a payment is made using the Rewards Accelerator through the platform. Earn up to 10 Velocity Points per AUD $1 processed when using the Rewards Accelerator on the platform.

The Yak Pay platform is administered by Yak Pay Pty Ltd ABN 55 158 935 810, in accordance with the Yak Pay Terms and Conditions which can be downloaded from within a customer’s Yak Pay account. Yak Pay collects and handles your personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy.

If you link your Virgin Australia Business Flyer account to your Yak Pay account, Yak Pay may share some of your personal information with Virgin Australia Business Flyer. Virgin Australia Business Flyer collects and handles your personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy. Virgin Australia Business Flyer and Yak Pay may use your personal information for purposes related to your linked accounts, including to: (a) confirm that you are a Virgin Australia Business Flyer member; (b) link your accounts, and (c) allow you to access details about your Virgin Australia Business Flyer account, such as your ABN, from within your Yak Pay account.

You can de-link or manage your linked accounts at any time through the “Rewards Program” section on the Yak Pay platform, or by contacting Yak Pay customer support directly.

1. Earning Points with Virgin Australia Business Flyer: Virgin Australia Business Flyer Members can earn up to 1,000,000 Points from completed travel on eligible flights marketed and operated by Virgin Australia or marketed by Virgin Australia and operated by eligible airline partners, per annum, based on the rolling 12 month period from when the Member joins Virgin Australia Business Flyer. Points aren’t earned on certain fees, taxes, or charges.  Virgin Australia Business Flyer Terms and Conditions  apply.

2. United Airlines Business Discounts (UA Business Discounts): As at 1 November 2023, the following discounts apply to the United Airlines and Virgin Australia base fares (which excludes fees, carrier charges and taxes) of Virgin Australia marketed and United Airlines operated flights (with a VA flight number) booked by Virgin Australia Business Flyer members (Members), which may change without notice:

Business Fares:
VA Fare Class J, C and D: 10%

Economy Fares:
VA Fare Classes Y, B, W, H, K and L: 10%
VA Fare Classes R and E: 5%

Please check the Virgin Australia Business Flyer website for current discount levels. UA Business Discounts can only be booked through the Booking Portal, our Guest Contact Centre, or a registered Travel Management Company (TMC) or travel agent and are not available through the public Virgin Australia website. If your TMC or travel agent is not registered to process these UA Business Discounts, please instruct your TMC or travel agent to contact the Virgin Australia Business Flyer team businessflyer@virginaustralia.com.

Fare advantage discounts: The Fare Advantage Discount of 4% applies to Flex fares (L, K, H, W, B, Y class) operated and marketed by Virgin Australia and 6% applies to Business Class fares (D, C, J class) operated and marketed by Virgin Australia, and is available to Virgin Australia Business Flyer members. The Fare Advantage Discount levels are subject to change without notice. Please check our website for current discount levels.  Fare Advantage Discounts can only be booked through the Booking Portal, our Guest Contact Centre, or a registered self-ticketing Travel Management Company (TMC) or travel agent and are not available through the public Virgin Australia website. Thrifty Car Hire Discount: Virgin Australia Business Flyer members will receive the following benefit from Thrifty on all bookings made via the Thrifty booking portal within the Virgin Australia Business Flyer Rewards Portal or the Virgin Australia Business Flyer Booking Portal: a discount of 15-18% off the best base rate of the day on www.Thrifty.com.au (that is, the rates on the Thrifty booking portal accessed via the Virgin Australia Business Flyer Rewards Portal or the Virgin Australia Business Flyer Booking Portal).

5. Points Transfer: Virgin Australia Business Flyer Account Administrators can transfer Points earned by the Virgin Australia Business Flyer member to a Velocity Frequent Flyer member, provided that (a) there is a minimum of 3,000 Points per transfer; and (b) the Velocity Frequent Flyer member transferee is directly employed or contracted by the Virgin Australia Business Flyer member.

6. Pilot Gold: A new Virgin Australia Business Flyer member is eligible to receive two three-month Velocity Pilot Gold Memberships if, within the first three months of becoming a Virgin Australia Business Flyer member, it books and completes at least $2,000 of eligible travel (excluding taxes, fees and charges).
